Home for a Rest

So...I sort of dropped off the blog world for a bit.

I got to Vancouver and it was FANTASTIC! Staying with Glennie and Bre was great! It was rainy but warm. Day 1 - we just wandered around, got some things for our dinner in the evening and hung out! what a night!
Day two included a lovely bike ride through Stanley Park and some lunch on Grandville Island. I had the fish and chips...just so I could say I had it on both coasts.

Day 3 I actually decided to head home. there were two unfortunate events at home so it was best to leave from Vancouver as I felt the need to be at home. Vancouver was the biggest airport and offered the most flights so I packed up and hopped on the flight to TO.

This doesn't mean that the trip is over....Tofino and Victoria will happen...when I don't know but in the near future....not to worry. Want to come with?

I think I'm going to continue this blog. Who knows what it will be about...maybe random happenings here in Toronto but I think I'll be writting whenever I travel.

Should be a good time!
Thanks for tuning in folks!

Have a great day!

Go West Young Man

Mum came up last night!
It was nice to have company! We got up and had some breakfast and then made our way into town..... I don't really get it, where do the real people live ? There is a populationof about 5000 people but everything is extremly touristy. We decided to rent a car for the next day so we wandered around looking for a rental place with a car. We watched the CAnadian leave and must was disappointedthey didn't yell " all aboard but not tonworry, they did when I got on"
The next day we got up and rented our car and rove outto the Columbia Icefields! Pretty impressive drive and a pretty impressive site for a huge piece of ice. It did snow though... Yes you read correctly. While you were sweating and living through 40 degree weather in Toronto, I got snowed on....

I walked up to the glacier, which has Changed a lot even since 2000. We could have taken the ice truck out onto the ice but id already had enough ofthe annoying tourists in the info centre and I've stood in ice before. It's cold. So I just walked up to it. I coul have justwalked under the rope and walked along the ice which some people did but I also readthe signs about ice crevasses and decided I didn't want to fall into the glacier, so I just looked at it.

We drove back andhad some dinner in town and then itwas time to head back to the lodge to pack up!

Mum had to catch her Edmonton airport transfer so we got up and checked out and watched the sun rise across the lodge while we waited.
I didn't have to leave until 12 so I went back to bed andthen packed up and made my way to the train station for 130.

This 20 hour train ride has been long and my whole bottom half is sore from sitting. Yes I got up and walked around.
Were pullinginto Vancouver as I type and it's grey andrainy but well see how things turn out!

Have a great day!

Jasper jasper jasper!

So Edmonton was rainy and chilly so I headed out to the mall. Now at first it just looks like any other mall but then you notice the GIANT waterpark, sea lions, pirate ship and ice rink.... It's pretty nuts. I wanted Togo skating but they closed by the time I got there. I was planning on shooting a gun but I'll tell you why I didn't. I got to the shooting range and was still extremly tempted, but then i saw a very large man shooting a very small gun and I'm sorry but that kickback was ridiculous!!! I walked away and wandered around the mall a little more. My original planhad been to do the most ridiculous thing the mall offered so I went back a little later, there were even younger kids there so I decided i had to. So I spoke to the guy but to shoot I had to buy a day pass!!! What is that?! I only wanted to shoot once! Do people really shoot multiple times in oneday? Apparently. So I would have to buy the day pass for 30 bucks and then Id have to buy bullets. Now I only wanted like 9 but you had to buy a minimumof 5 magazines ( is that the right term, magazine? I have no idea....) so I decided  that no, shooting a hand gun was not going to happen today. Also there were some dudes there that had already spent 450$ ridiculous. I walked.

Anyway, I had to catch the train at 730the next morning so We went for a drink and some food  and then  I packed up my stuff!
The prairies were nice but to be honest not quite as spectacular as the coasts.
I liked them but found myself a little bored at times. It might be because I was by myself for a lot of it, but they just didn't have as much, I don't know, let's say character as the east. Don't get me wrong there were some great things but I don't think I'll need Togo back anytime soon. Forgive me prairies....

The train the jasper was pretty fantastic... I have to admit I fell asleep for a little while and woke up in the middle of the forest.....
But the rest of the ride was amazing!!! Huge mountains and blue water!
I got off the train and hopped on the shuttle to the jasper park lodge.... OMG.
This place is amazing.... It reminds me a little of dirty dancig only because it's fairly secluded and everyone has their own cabin on the property. But it's gorgeous!

My first full day I slept in, got up and rented a bike. Dont ask me where i went I have no idea. However I did end up in a forest and decided I should probably turn around and at least end up on a road somewhere. It may be beautiful but there are still wild animals around and no one really knew where I was should anything happen. So I turned around and biked for a while and then just hung out.
Today I met up with a friend Enzo and he drove me around to all the cool places including the glacier... I was sad I forgot to bring my water bottle!! I'll let my pictures speak for what we saw though, I don't think it's possible to describe with an iPhone.
The lodge is sort if like the ultimate in glamour camping. You can go into town or you can just hang out on your own muskoka chair, located on your back porch( where I'm currently writting from)
I plan on relaxing a lot these few days I'm pretty tired and I still have 16 days to go! I dont want to get to exhausted and I think I can already feel a bit of a sore throat, so I think it's best to just relax.

Mum comes up tonight!

Have a great day!
